The concept of smart cities is rapidly popularizing in China, and the pilot work in major first tier cities has basically come to a perfect end, with the largest renovation volume being the smart street light project. Smart streetlights are the replacement of high-pressure sodium lamps with IoT terminals that integrate chips, light sources, power supplies, controllers, charging stations, and more. At present, the application of smart street lights in China is relatively not yet widespread. There is another process between high-pressure sodium lamps and smart street lights, which is LED street lights. Although smart street lights have not been widely used, the use of LED street lights is no longer a rarity, and major cities across the country are undergoing large-scale LED street light replacement.

 

 

 

Transforming traditional streetlights with LED streetlights (only replacing the lamp head with an LED light source, leaving the rest unchanged), the existing 250W high-pressure sodium lamp can be replaced by a 120W LED light source. Currently, the lumens per watt of the LED light source are between 80 and 90, and the good LED beads can reach 90 to 100 lumens per watt. Currently, it can basically replace the 250W high-pressure sodium lamp. With existing technology, the 120W LED can completely replace the 250W high-pressure sodium lamp next year.

 

 

 

The conversion efficiency of LED is notoriously low, with nearly 80% of electrical energy being converted into thermal energy. Therefore, heat dissipation has always been a difficult problem for LED street lights. Until this year, LED street lights began to be widely used, and the reason for this is that the heat dissipation problem has been solved. The development direction of LED has always been small spacing and high-power, just in line with street lights. Major LED manufacturers have never stopped researching and developing high-power LEDs. From the Guangya Exhibition, it can be seen that major manufacturers have launched their own high-power lighting solutions.

 

 

 

When it comes to this high-power solution, it is closely related to the rise of domestic ceramic substrates. High power solution, what does it solve? Of course, it is to solve the heat dissipation problem. There are two main methods to solve the heat dissipation problem, one is better thermal channel design, and the other is to use materials with better thermal conductivity. The design of LED heat dissipation channels in China has long been mature, and the best Why has the ceramic substrate, which has been developed for a long time, not been applied yet?

 

 

 

As early as 1982, General Electric in the United States had already developed a ceramic substrate, which has been around for over half a century. However, it has not been widely used for such a long time, and there are too many reasons involved. For now, we will only focus on the development of ceramic substrates in China.

 

 

 

China's ceramic substrates began to develop after 2000. In 2004, the 842 Research Institute of China officially developed China's own ceramic substrates, representing China's official breakthrough in the technological blockade of ceramic substrates. China has independently developed and produced ceramic substrates, and it has only been 13 years since then. These 13 years coincided with China's rapid growth, and China's electronic manufacturing industry has undergone tremendous changes in these 13 years, Ceramic substrates are no exception.

 

 

 

Previously, domestic ceramic substrate technology was blocked by foreign countries, and the use of domestic ceramic substrates mainly relied on imports. Currently, the international ceramic substrate market is mainly occupied by companies such as Kyocera, Seoul Semiconductor, and Rogers in the United States. The imported ceramic substrates in China are also mainly from Japan and South Korea. If tariffs, logistics, and other factors are included, the cost will be too high, resulting in our ceramic substrate products being unable to gain an advantage in terms of cost.

 

 

 

This situation lasted almost until after 2012, when the research and development of ceramic substrates by major scientific research institutions in China became quite mature. With the support of the country for the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, domestic ceramic substrates officially began to open up the market. Among them, the products of ceramic substrate manufacturers led by Sliton are already comparable to international large factories.

 

 

 

The reason for the delayed application of domestic ceramic substrates is not only due to immature scientific research technology, but also due to market factors.

 

 

 

As is well known, the application market of ceramic substrates mainly consists of high-power electronic components, which are basically high-end products in electronic equipment. China has one of the largest electronic manufacturing industries, but there is no advantage in high-end products with high precision, which directly leads to the fact that even if we launch ceramic substrates in the market, they will not have applications.

 

 

 

Sliton enters with a strong advantage and regains his weakness!

 

 

 

At the beginning of 2017, the Sliton brand was officially established, under the umbrella of Fuli Tiansheng Technology, specializing in the research and development, production, and sales of ceramic circuit boards. Was it late in 2017? It's not too late! As early as 2010, Fuli Tiansheng Technology had already started the layout of Sliton ceramic circuit boards. Through cooperation with major laboratories and university research institutions across the country, it successfully made breakthroughs in the ceramic substrate manufacturing process. In mid 2017, it successfully mass-produced and quickly gained a large number of domestic fans. Currently, it has become a leader in the entire domestic ceramic substrate industry.

 

 

 

In the past, when high-end ceramic substrates from abroad dominated the domestic market, people at that time never expected domestic brands to emerge. Under the same substrate comparison, the cost in China can be 40% lower than that of imports. What is the concept of 40%, which is enough to enable China's high-end high-power equipment to enter the world stage.

 

 

 

If it's just a cost advantage, Sliton is not enough to be a domestic leader. The focus is on the core technology level. After years of accumulation and brewing, Sliton's product performance is on average 10% higher compared to the same model of products. That is to say, in terms of cost-effectiveness, no one can surpass it.

At present, China has deployed its own ceramic substrate market, and I believe it will not be long before it solves the awkward situation where the lifeline of Chinese ceramic substrates is controlled by other countries, and can completely control its high-end products in its own hands.


  

Ceramic substrates are undoubtedly the future trend of the electronics industry, and this trend is also irreversible. Although there are various difficulties hindering our progress at present, the country has taken the initiative to take action. I believe that under the promotion of the "Made in China 2025" strategy, any obstacles are insignificant. The era of ceramic substrates will eventually come, and China's electronic manufacturing will also open a new chapter.
