On January 24th, it was learned from the Wuhan Bridge Maintenance Management Office that the first phase of the "Wuhan Urban Bridge Intelligent Management System" project has been completed and put into use. More than 1000 sensors of 15 types were installed on 42 key bridges, marking that Wuhan's urban bridge management work has entered the leading position in China in terms of intelligence and information technology. With the goal of "real-time safety monitoring and early warning, rapid emergency response, preventive maintenance, forward-looking management", the system integrates emerging cutting-edge technologies such as mobile Internet, wireless monitoring, cloud computing, big data, etc., combines the characteristics of Wuhan's urban bridge structure and operating environment, fully considers the needs of large-scale bridge cluster management, and achieves "one bridge, one file" electronic registered residence management and intelligent monitoring.
More than 1000 sensors in 15 categories are used for 24-hour automated monitoring of bridge operating environment, vehicle loads, structural mechanical characteristics, existing disease defects, and safety operation indicators. The operating environment mainly includes temperature and humidity sensors and gas sensors; Both the vehicle load and structural mechanics use pressure sensors, and the vehicle load will be matched with laser sensors.
The above mentioned sensors are all closely related to ceramic substrates. First of all, let's talk about temperature and humidity sensors. Temperature and humidity sensors are the most harsh working environment, and in Wuhan, one of the "four major furnaces", they often encounter high temperature and humidity. Currently, the most difficult point for temperature and humidity sensors to break through is the stable operation in high temperature and humidity environments. Ceramic substrates, as inorganic substances, have good performance in resisting high temperature and humidity. Let's talk about pressure sensors again. Pressure sensors can be said to be the most commonly used sensors using ceramic substrates, because if pressure sensors require extremely accurate data, they must require a low dielectric loss of the substrate. Currently, the aluminum nitride ceramic substrate has the smallest dielectric loss, which can accurately transmit its pulse signal to the processor to achieve the minimum error. At present, the use of aluminum nitride and alumina ceramic substrates has become a major trend in the sensor industry, and the bridge system of Wuhan Smart City is the best proof.
It is reported that the system was listed as one of the "Ten Practical Matters of Wuhan Municipal Government in 2017", led by the Wuhan Urban Management Committee, constructed by the Wuhan Bridge Maintenance Management Office, and implemented by the China Railway Bridge Science Research Institute. From August to December 31, 2017, the first phase of the project construction has been fully completed. The second phase of the project will be completed gradually in 2018. In the future, the system will gradually be extended to over 600 urban bridges in Wuhan to ensure safe travel for citizens. The smart city project will spread globally in a very short period of time, requiring countless sensors. Perhaps in the future, sensors will replace our human perception organs, but regardless of the future, aluminum oxide and aluminum nitride ceramic substrates will shine brightly in it.
