Automobile oxygen sensor is a very important source of feedback information in the automobile engine control system. The oxygen content in the exhaust gas will determine the amount of fuel injected by the electronic fuel injector and the intake volume of the intake manifold. This data will determine the automobile fuel consumption and whether the automobile emission standards are up to standard. The oxygen sensor can only fully reflect its characteristics at high temperatures above 300 ° C and can output voltage. Therefore, the selection of substrate will be very important.

Once the oxygen sensor works abnormally, the engine control unit will receive the wrong mixture concentration feedback signal, which will affect the accurate control of fuel injection. In general, when the oxygen sensor ages and the working efficiency begins to decrease:

It sends a signal that the mixture is too thin, which causes the engine control unit to increase the amount of fuel injection, and then increase the fuel consumption, which will generally rise by 15%.

The engine power output is reduced, the acceleration performance is affected, the handling performance is poor, and the driving pleasure is lost.

The mixture concentration is too large, the incomplete combustion increases, and the emission exceeds the standard.

If the mixture is burned too strongly for a long time, the operating temperature of the engine will be too high, and the expensive catalytic conversion unit will be seriously damaged.

At present, the substrate used in automotive sensors is divided into three types according to the material: epoxy resin substrate, metal substrate, ceramic substrate. For the oxygen sensor substrate, the epoxy resin substrate is the first to be eliminated, because the epoxy resin can not withstand high temperatures above 300 ° C, only the metal substrate and the ceramic substrate. At present, the metal substrate is mainly based on copper substrate and aluminum substrate, but whether it is copper substrate or aluminum substrate is a conductor, and if it is used as a substrate, it needs to be an insulating layer to be used, but the insulating layer is not able to withstand high temperatures above 300 ° C. So only the ceramic substrate can still be used.


  

At present, the most important application of ceramic substrate is two kinds, one is alumina ceramic substrate, one is aluminum nitride ceramic substrate, the biggest difference between the two substrates is the thermal conductivity, the thermal conductivity of alumina ceramic substrate is generally 35W/ (m·K), and aluminum nitride can reach the terrible 230W/ (m·K), as for the temperature, Both substrates can operate at high temperatures above 300 ° C.

It can be seen that the most suitable for the alumina sensor is the aluminum nitride ceramic substrate, only the aluminum nitride ceramic substrate can be exported in time, and the speed is faster when the circuit is heated, which can perfectly protect the data transmission of the oxygen content of the tail gas.

At present, the domestic production of ceramic substrate manufacturers are not many, mainly led by a few, completely insufficient to meet today's market demand, the use of domestic ceramic substrate still relies heavily on imports, so China's ceramic substrate wants to be able to fully promote the development of the electronics industry, there is still a long way to go.
